Description
If you got to slap my Triple Fidget MP5 , this builds on that slide mechanism to make a 12 gauge pump shotgun. You've got to try it - it's a BLAST!
(See what I did there?)
This is an easily assembled fidget that does require one rubber band and a few drops of super glue. Detailed instructions to follow. If you like my work please consider leaving a profile rating or a boost. Thanks for checking out my designs!
Step 1: Use the supplied tool to fish your rubber band through the cut out under the barrel. Attach it to the anchor that is accessible through the ejection port in the barrel.
Step 2: Insert the sliding action/bolt mechanism into the tube under the barrel. I've provided a handy how-to video short here.
Or if you can't get to the video: Hook the rubber band around the “T” section of the bolt. Stretch the rubber band a few times and slide it into the receiver, “T” side first, channel facing up. If it binds up pull it back out and repeat. Don't force it, less pressure tends to work better. I've installed this may times in testing so don't be discouraged if it takes a few tries to get the rubber band to find the channel above the bolt and pop into place, it eventually will. Push the bolt all the way down in there with your finger, and insert one side of the pump to hold it. Line up the other pump grip piece and snap them together.
Step 3: Install the trigger by pressing it into the channel in the pistol grip. It is offset so it can't go in upside down. Give it a good press and it will be springy.
Step 4: Join the two halves of the shotgun. You're going to need a few drops of glue here. The MP5 could press fit if it had to, but the action/bolt piece of this design slaps forward with a lot more force. It will launch the barrel half off if you don't glue it. Its definitely funny but only the first time… Glue the holes, glue the tabs, put a few drops on the mating surface faces. Hold them together with light pressure and let it dry.
Step 5: Rack/pump/chamber - Enjoy! See I saved the AI slop for last… It took restraint not to lead with it. But come on! I'm literally keeping it real in my post pics. Cool hero image though, right?
Thanks for joining me for this print. I had fun putting it together and I'm happy with the design. It's my second moving parts print (seriously, check out my MP5 if you haven't already), and I have a few more ideas behind this one. I check in on MakerWorld regularly, if you have any questions or design notes please leave me a comment. I would love to see pictures of your prints and color combinations, feel free to share those too!
