Description

Boost MeThis Audi lightbox requires a pair of magnetic connectors. (And a jackplug for utilizing a common DC-jack cable) I modelled it for 10mm 10A magnetic connectors in specific. (I had some laying around so I configured this project to use them.)Â

You will need to stick the LED Strip along the inner Shell, as far as possible from the surface of the Logo to avoid lightspots. After that, you should solder the ending of the LED strip to the magnetic connector (with some short jumper wires) that is placed into the outer shell. Slide the inner shell into the outer shell. You should wire the magnet connector inside the inner stand shell in a similar way, make sure the cable for the supply is slid through the small hole on the backside (if you don´t use the jack plug) (not the place for the connector) before soldering the connector at the outer stand shell. (In case you use a jackplug, just solder the plug to the female magnet connector with some jumper wires. I recommend soldering just the cables to the jackplug first, then assemble the inner and outer stand and pull the wires through and solder the magnet connector last. Then just press fit it into the hole.) Put the inner stand shell into the outer one. Now you only need to supply power and you should have your magnet connector supplied Audi sign ready. If you want to turn it off, you can just lift the Logo off the stand or pull the power chord out of the outlet or jackplug if you used one.
