Description

Fully sprung and articulated ‘Buckeye’ truck for G scale. These are not a replacement or alternative to any manufactured G scale rolling stock. I designed these for my depressed center flat car model and future projects.

MUST USE 0.2mm NOZZLE FOR ACCURATE FITMENT

Print List/Options:

  • Choose sideframe style (additional styles planned):

    -Friction Bearing

    -Converted Roller Bearing

  • Choose Bolster:

    - 0mm (light / no car load)

    - +1mm (medium weight load)

    - +2mm (heavy load)

Hardware (per truck; double for set of trucks):

  • (6) MF63ZZ Flanged Bearings (3 x 6 x 2.5mm)
  • (3) G scale wheel sets with 3mm axle tips (I used Roll-EZ brand)
  • (8) Springs sized at 0.4mm x 5mm x 15mm (I purchased from Amazon)
  • (4) M2 x 6mm button head bolts (Amazon set)

Assembly:

  1. Clean/trim pieces of support material
  2. Ensure M2 Bolt has a slip-fit through the tabs of the ‘Center Frame’.

  3. Align Inner, Center, and Outer Frames and screw in M2 Bolts from the back side. Carefully tighten the bolt. Ensure the joints can pivot freely, but are not too loose.
  4. Press in bearings into the Frames
  5. Assemble a Bolster into one of the completed side frames.
  6. Insert 3 wheel/axles into the bearings.
  7. Carefully line up the other ends of the axles and Bolster to fit the other side frame.
  8. Carefully insert all 8 springs.
