This model was designed for the 2026 Football Fan Spirit Design Contest!
Boost MeHey! Like this model? Feel free to leave a boost as they are greatly appreciated! Happy printing!
I realize that vuvuzelas are banned in some sports arenas now, (see caution section) but I wanted to design one in remembrance of Soccer/Football, earlier in its existence. Plus, it is still insanely fun to play, and because it can amplify your voice, you can shout messages through it too! :)
Printing Details:
This model is sized at 80% so that it isn’t to tall to be printed on a Bambu Labs printer. Please don’t scale the model so that it has more than 1200 total layers, to ensure complete satisfaction. The infill is set to make sure that the vuvuzela is strong, and still lightweight. The Bell of the vuvuzela does not require supports (it printed fine for me). The Neck of the vuvuzela does require supports for a small portion of the top.
IDEA TO SAVE FILAMENT:
I have not tried this, but if you know how to do it, you could make the flush object for the bell a second vuvuzela bell (if they fit on one print bed together). It may not have the same color scheme, but then you would have 2 horns, with WAY less waste! IMPORTANT NOTE: You cannot make the Neck of the horn a flush object a flush object because it requires supports, but you can just print 2 at a time, and it still saves a little!
What Does It Do?
This vuvuzela can perform different tasks. It can be a horn/vuvuzela, or it can be a voice amplifier. To play it like a horn, all you have to do is blow strongly into the mouthpiece end (blue in the pictures), and it makes a horn sound. If you just want it to amplify your voice, put your mouth on the mouthpiece like you are going to blow it, but then speak clearly and loudly into it. The instrument will project the sound farther and louder, so that whatever you said will be heard from a pretty good distance away! This is also a good print for kids because it can amplify their cheering at sports games (adults too :)
CAUTION:
Sadly, Vuvuzelas are not welcome everywhere. They are banned in some sports complexes and arenas. Please consider if you should actually bring this beautiful instrument to a sports game, and what consequences that might entail (good or bad).
Here is a list of some major sports arenas that have banned Vuvuzelas:
Though not listed here, other sports arenas banned them too like in baseball, cricket, etc.
Why are Vuvuzelas Banned?
Vuvuzelas are banned for a simple reason. They are loud, distracting, and obnoxious to players in the middle of a professional game (this applies to any game: kid, amateur, pro), and can cause them to mess up. This is extremely problematic during events like the FIFA World Cup, because prize money and a trophy are on the line!
If you do not want to risk getting kicked out of an expensive sports game, then you can just print it, and support your team from your couch at home! (that option honestly might be better because it costs WAY less, and you can spend time with family!)
~Happy printing!
