Description
Embrace the intersection of botanical beauty and macabre elegance. Inspired by the classic Acherontia styx (Death’s-head Hawkmoth), this custom-designed sculpture reimagines the iconic skull marking with a gothic twist. At its heart lies the Black Dahlia, a symbol of betrayal and eternal grace, meticulously layered to form the moth’s thorax and abdomen.
The Design This piece features a dual-sided narrative on mortality. One side showcases a high-relief anatomical skull integrated into the head, while the "floral spine" mimics the natural ribbing of a moth. The reverse side offers a more abstract, skeletal interpretation, blending organic floral patterns with sharp, architectural wing venation.
