Description
Thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown for my LOOP design. It has become my most successful creation to date, and reading every warm comment fills me with recognition and a great sense of achievement for this hobby 🙏.
Not long ago, @snowblind shared a brilliant creative suggestion for LOOP:
“this is great. you should definitely make a design that looks like filament spools. Then make a mini holder for them that looks like an AMS!!”
The idea was incredibly inspiring, and that’s how my new SPOOL design came to life.
It inherits the classic sandwich structure of LOOP, with tailored improvements for SPOOL.
The middle layer is exposed on the inner side of the central shaft, concealing multi-color splicing seams while allowing better running-in for ultra-smooth rotation.
The design faithfully replicates the look of a standard filament spool, scaled down to exactly half the regular size.
Only recessed hole textures are adopted instead of full hollow cutouts — avoiding visual obstruction from internal structures and greatly reducing overall print time.
As a small DIY bonus: you can add 0.4mm debossed text on the label area for easy cable marking and classification.
Two print profiles are included for different setups:spool AMS & spool (no AMS)
Only one filament swap is required for both methods. Please use filaments of the same type or materials with good adhesion to ensure optimal results.
Tested with Bambu PLA & PETG.
If you like this design, your likes and support mean a lot 🙏
Happy Printing!
