Saint Rosalia, Patron Saint Against Plague

This remix is based on a Baroque sculpture of Saint Rosalia, the 17th-century patron saint of Palermo, Italy, known for her association with protection from plague and illness. She is depicted here in a reclining, contemplative pose, a common motif in her iconography, often symbolizing her life of isolation and devotion as a hermit. The presence of the skull serves as a memento mori, a reminder of mortality and spiritual reflection, while the flowing drapery and relaxed posture reflect the expressive, emotional qualities of Baroque religious sculpture.

 

I imported the original model into Bambu Studio, oriented it for optimal printing, and scaled it to the maximum dimensions supported by A1, P1, and X1 printers. I optimized infill settings to balance strength and efficiency while preserving the fine surface detail.

 

This model prints very cleanly with minimal supports required. The only support needed was a small, targeted support under the overhang to stabilize it. Everything else prints naturally without additional support structures, making this a relatively easy and low-maintenance print for a model of this complexity.
