Description
I designed this modular filament stand as a clean, sturdy, and scalable way to organize filament rolls without overcomplicating the build. The side frames are printed in Basic PLA and the horizontal rails use standard 25 x 1.5 mm aluminum tubes, creating a strong and simple storage system that fits nicely in a workshop, print room, or maker space.
The stand uses a press-fit tube system, so the aluminum tubes slide directly into the printed side parts. No extra brackets, complicated hardware, or special assembly steps are needed. Just print the sides, cut the tubes to length, press everything together, and you have a solid filament rack ready to use.
The best part is the modular design. You can build a compact 2-layer stand, go taller with 3 layers, or expand the system even further when your filament collection grows. It is made to be flexible, so you can create a setup that fits your space instead of forcing your space to fit the stand.
Wall connector and widened feet will be added later
The side parts were printed in Basic PLA. For the rails, I used standard 25 x 1.5 mm aluminum tubes. Make sure your tube length is cut accurately so the stand stays square and stable.
This is a practical storage solution for anyone who wants their filament rolls organized, easy to reach, and ready to expand when the collection inevitably grows.
