PolyCore is a modular magnetic fidget built around clean geometry, tight tolerances, and a surprisingly satisfying rotational feel. Each frame nests into the next and rotates independently, guided by a precise magnetic detent system.

 

Designed for fast printing, multi‑color expression, and full magnet compatibility across 2 mm and 3 mm thickness magnets.

 

 

⭐ What is PolyCore?

PolyCore is a three‑layer rotating magnet based geometric core:

  • Outer frame
  • Middle frame
  • Inner frame

Each layer snaps into alignment through magnets embedded during a layer pause. No glue. No supports. No calibration tricks.

Just press‑fit precision and a clean, elegant click.

 

 

🛠 UPDATE v1.1 (2026-04-23): Geometry Fix for 3mm Magnets

A huge thank you to @Nocho (the legend!) and @Youottanknow for spotting a geometric error in the 3mm versions. You guys are awesome! 🙏

  • What was fixed: Corrected size of outer ring for all 3mm thick magnet variants (5x3, 6x3, etc.).
  • Action: If you downloaded a 3mm version before the update, please use the new (…20260423.3mf) files.
  • Note: The 2mm versions were NOT affected and are still perfect.

⭐ Assembly 

PolyCore uses a press‑fit magnet system with a built‑in layer pause. No glue is required — the fit is intentionally tight and tested across 30+ prints.

 

1) Print the frames with the built‑in layer pause

Your slicer will stop automatically at the magnet layer.

 

2) Insert the magnets during the pause

  • Press the magnets straight down into the cavities
  • They must be pushed all the way to the bottom
  • The fit is intentionally tight so nothing shifts during printing
  • This prevents magnets from popping out or floating up into the nozzle path

3) Resume the print

The printer seals the magnets inside the part. Nothing remains visible from the outside.

 

4) Snap the frames together

The tolerances are tuned for smooth rotation with a soft magnetic detent.

 

5) Done — no glue, no sanding, no calibration tricks
