Add a touch of mechanical elegance to your garden or balcony with the Twister. This 3D-printed wind sculpture is designed to transform even a stiff breeze into a mesmerizing, fluid dance. Inspired by the organic geometry of nature, its staggered blades catch the air to create a hypnotic helical motion that serves as a perfect focal point for any outdoor space.
Design & Customization
One of the best parts of this project is the endless potential for customization. While the teal and white version offers a sleek, modern look, you can create truly stunning artwork by experimenting with different color combinations.
Try gradient filaments for a color-shifting effect.
Use high-contrast colors (like orange and black) for high visibility.
Mix and match blade colors to create a "rainbow" blur when the sculpture picks up speed.
Printing & Usage Tips
To ensure your sculpture stands the test of time and the elements, please keep the following requirements in mind:
Material: This must be printed in PETG (or ASA/ABS). Standard PLA will soften and warp under direct sunlight and outdoor heat.
Environment: The Twister is specifically designed for outdoor usage.
Wind Conditions: Because of its mechanical assembly and the surface area of the paddles, this sculpture requires a constant and relatively strong wind to achieve full rotation. It is best suited for open yards, rooftops, or coastal areas where the air is moving consistently.
you need glue and 10x m3x25mm screws for assembly
NB! you need to print out PETALS MEDIUM plate 2 times and PETALS SMALL plate 3 times. After glueing petals part together, you have 6 small petals and 4 medium petals. Below is the assembly visual.
