Description
This is a Gridfinity baseplate designed specifically for IKEA FRIIDROTT drawers (285 × 340 mm), inspired by the slim ALEX drawer base on MakerWorld. The layout is adapted to better fit the FRIIDROTT dimensions while keeping everything fully compatible with the wider Gridfinity ecosystem.
The baseplate is split into two 4×6 plates for standard printers. For smaller printers like the A1 Mini, there’s also a version divided into four 4×3 sections. Although I modeled this one from scratch, this baseplate and connector clips are based on ones from gridfinitygenerator.com, which I find much easier to handle than the smaller connectors used in some popular designs as they’re less fiddly, harder to drop and lose, and much more satisfying to clip together.
There’s a (very) small amount of play in the drawer fit, which is intentional. Once you place Gridfinity bins inside, everything settles and feels snug. Keep in mind that drawer dimensions can vary slightly anyway, so this tolerance helps ensure a consistent fit.
If you want to customize things further, you could redesign the spacers as their own non-standard baseplate to perfectly fill the remaining space. I chose not to do that so everything stays fully compatible with my other drawers and standard Gridfinity layouts.
STEP files are included if you’d like to tweak or adapt the design to your needs.
