Shipping container desk organizer

For whatever reason I thought leaving this little part on the sidewall is good idea. Slicer was not too happy about this part, in updated version it is much easier to print and should even hide much more nicely.

I got tired of my pens rolling all over my desk, so I put together this shipping container organizer. It’s got that heavy industrial look but actually keeps things surprisingly tidy.

Organizer is printed in 4 parts:

1. Main body

    

2. Sides x2

    

3. Insert

Assembly & The Fit

For most of the containers I’ve printed, I just glued the sides to the main body but left the insert sitting freely. It has an extremely nice, flush fit. I’ve already caught my colleague a few times just sliding the insert in and out because of how satisfyingly it glides into the body.

  I ran out of gray filament during this print, but thanks to that you can see that sides are printed separately to save a lot of filament waste caused by color changes.
