Custom Subaru Shift Knob

Custom shift knob for a Subaru 5 speed. I made this for my 2017 Crosstrek. This is threaded internally so there is no set screw. 

I printed this out of PETG. It is about 4 years old in these pictures and is holding up great. In my area, summer temperatures outside get up to 105 F (40.5 C). After sitting in the sun for a full day there has been no distortion on the print. When I need a new one I am probably going to go with ABS though. The initial rounded overhang transition in the first layers can be tricky to get smooth so make sure you have your setting dialed in for your material. On my very first print I sliced the part just before the rounded transition so I could flip that section and didn't have on overhang and glued the 2 together. 

I printed the shift pattern separate so you can pick the orientation of the faces then glue the pattern in. 

This is super fun print. I get comments from anyone that rides in my car.
