HVAC 25mm Electrical Wire Grommet

Our Air conditioner stopped working and when troubleshooting I found some wires that were damaged from rubbing on the metal frame of our Rheem condenser unit. I wrapped these bad wires with electrical tape, but I wanted to prevent this from happening again. So I designed this special TPU grommet to protect the wires going from the contactor and capacitor to the condenser and fan. 

 

This is a simple TPU print designed to print slow and clean, should only take about 20-30 mins depending on printer and settings. 

 

To install this on your HVAC unit you can either unwire the wires going from the outer control box to the condenser and fan or I just cut the grommet and slipped it around the wires. I suggest cutting the grommet at a 45-degree angle to help keep the grommet in place and not slipping around. 

 

This may not work for every unit as some have different dimensions but it worked great on my Rheem condenser.
