Description
I like to drink coffee from a good ole fashioned ceramic coffee mug on my way in to work in the morning… However, the cup holders in my 2016 Mazda 3 (Gen 3) aren't large enough to accommodate a coffee mug. Well, if you have a similarly sized cup holder - I have a solution for you.
It's not the most elegant, pretty, or well drafted/designed solution - but it works exceptionally well despite all that.
This model has a base of 64.5mm and a top opening of 89.5mm. This is the perfect size to fit the 2016 Mazda 3 (Gen 3) cup holder and facilitate a standard sized coffee mug. There is very minimal movement/play and minimizes/eliminates the risk of you dumping your coffee onto your center console (well, as much as driving around with an un-lidded coffee mug can anyway).
As I said, this model isn't elegant - it uses a ton of filament (191.32 grams), takes forever (6h 35m), and has a scarf line I haven't been able to solve. Also, as it sits in a vehicle - which is basically a rolling greenhouse - you must use PET-G or another filament with higher heat resistance than PLA (ask me how I know). You also must ensure supports are enabled. The supports are the reason for the print length and (partially responsible) for the filament cost. Again, it's inelegant, but it really does work very well for it's purpose!
