I’ve combined my love for Gothic architecture and high fantasy into this latest project: a Gothic Dragon Stained-Glass Book Nook.
This piece features a flying dragon breathing fire, captured in a faux-stained-glass window that brings a mythic glow to any bookshelf. Here are the technical details:
The Engineering
Stained-Glass Effect: To achieve the authentic look, I used translucent PETG. I specifically engineered the coloring by varying the layer heights across the design. This creates the shifting light and "textured" feel of real glass!
The Frame: The gothic arch is printed in Black PLA. I’ve integrated custom holders into the back of the frame to securely lock the glass panel in place.
The Glow: I designed a custom base that fits a standard LED tea light. When lit, it transforms the piece into a cozy, mysterious light source for your library.
