Description
This model makes a computer case fan look like a tiny version of a box fan you could buy at Kmart.
It requires a standard 120mm computer case fan. The fan must be 25mm in depth. If you have a fancy fan with rubber pads, they should be removed for this to fit right. I used eight fan screws. Most fans only come with four. Hopefully your pile of scrap computer parts has a few extra. Mine certainly did. In a pinch you could likely use 30mm long M4 bolts and nuts.
The handle and feet are friction fit. If they are loose, use a drop of your favorite glue. The back insert is thin, be careful removing it from the build plate. The only piece that is designed to use an AMS is the front grill, but that can be printed as a single color and still look cool.
I used an old 3pin fan for the photos, but 4pin (variable speed pwm fans) are more common now. There are many ways to power these fans. You might want to look at products like these… (all examples, none tested).
