Description
If you already own a Ryobi 18v cultivator (P2705 or P2750) then printing off this ballast bucket will turn your cultivator into a tiller. This ballast bucket is Beast Mode for this cultivator. If you don't have this cultivator and really want to buy it and have worried that this model won't have enough oooooompf to really do the rippin and tearin that you need - this printable add-on ballast bucket that fits like OJ's glove and has an excessively strong shaft handle with just enough flexibility that fits with the kind of slip and grip that'll raise the hair on the back of your neck.
Â
When I got this cultivator it worked pretty well, but when I dropped a bag of paver sand on the head it turned into a beast. Even with the extra weight the torque from the motor didn't wane. It didn't even seem to tax the battery anymore than before. Essentially Ryobi built a product that is far more capable than is advertised.
Â
I spent a ridiculous amount of time designing and printing off a foolish amount of prototypes to make sure this freaking bucket fit and worked exactly how I needed it. You can fill the bucket up with anything you want to add weight. However, choosing to use dirt, rocks, pebbles, gravel, or anything small and loose will work best. Whenever your cultivator hits rocks, roots, gumballs, or any small object the cultivator can definitely lock up but far more often the cultivator is gonna jump like a horse fly just bit it in the butt. You will be surprised at how stable the ballast bucket is and I have only had one incident where the ballast bucket has been bucked to side and spill. Very likely you will hit small items and just toss them into the bucket to clear the items and add a small amount of weight instead of tossing and running over it again.
Â
I liken this cultivator with the ballast bucket to your cordless leaf blower. Meaning, when you bought your leaf blower you didn't realize that you are gonna be inventing tasks just to use your leaf blower. This cultivator with the ballast bucket has had the same effect. I find myself looking at my yard and all the surrounding yards to find a perfectly fine area that now needs cultivating.
Â
Essentially buy the cultivator and print off the ballast bucket and never look back.
Â
Ryobi please don't be upset with me!!!!!!!! You have a fine product, I just gave it steroids. Don't worry, I take breaks to make sure everything can cool off, allow myself to cross my arms, gently nod to myself and say, "Man, that cultivator sure can hog", or "That hog sure can chooch."
I also have the 18v whhhhisper series leaf blower and I am working on a bunch of stuff, and hopefully I will start releasing models before long.
