Project Overview

  • Source: Digital scan of a real European roe deer skull.
  • Realism: Captures natural imperfections, suture lines, and the unique texture of the antlers.
  • Applications: Perfect for nature-themed decor, educational displays, or as a reference for artists.

Printing Recommendations

To maintain the fine details of the scan, follow these guidelines:

  • Orientation: The model is best printed upright or at a slight backward tilt.
  • Supports: Tree supports are highly recommended for the antlers and the delicate nasal bone structure.
  • Layer Height: Use 0.12mm or 0.16mm for maximum detail preservation.
  • Infill: 10-15% Gyroid is sufficient for a lightweight but sturdy model.
  • Post-Processing: Matte white PLA or "Bone" colored filament provides the most authentic look without needing paint.
