Description
“When the plague first consumed the northern kingdoms, the knight did not flee. He rode into the infected lands alone, wearing armor sealed with prayer wax and carrying a blade blessed long before the world began to rot. The disease never took his body — only his name. Now he wanders in silence, hunting the things that crawled out of the sickness, a cursed guardian feared by the living and followed by the dead.”
Dark Fantasy Plague Knight is a highly detailed tabletop miniature designed for painters who want to start or expand their mini painting journey. The full model, including the base, stands at approximately 90 mm, with a 45 mm base diameter. This size was chosen to make painting easier and more enjoyable for beginners while still giving enough detail for experienced hobby painters.
Printing this model is not the easiest due to the high level of detail, especially on the clothing, armor, and weapons. A ready-to-use print profile is included and uses carefully tested support settings made specifically for this miniature. The profile is based on 0.12 mm layer height, but you can also try your own settings at 0.2 mm. If you print at 0.2 mm, a support gap of 0.25 mm is recommended for cleaner support removal.
The axe handle is the most delicate part of the model. For that reason, a separate small repair piece is included in the files and can be glued in place if the handle breaks while removing supports. I used a UV-curing gel glue for this part. After printing, I cleaned the model carefully with a sharp hobby knife and removed stringing with a lighter. Please work slowly and carefully when removing supports.
In my opinion, the best material for this miniature is matte PLA. Because I ran out of it, I printed this version in PETG, but I am not fully satisfied with the result.
This is one of my first figures, so I would really appreciate your feedback and photos in the comments. Your suggestions will help me
