Description
Transform ordinary broom handles/wooden dowels into an elegant designer piece! This project combines the aesthetics of 3D printing with the warmth of natural wood. It’s a perfect example of functional upcycling that fits any modern interior—whether you need a bedside table, a coffee stand, or a stylish plant holder.
This table was originally designed with a specific purpose in mind: to create a perfect, elevated stand for the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact. I wanted something that would match its clean aesthetic while improving airflow by getting it off the ground. However, once I finished the first prototype, I realized how versatile it is—it works beautifully as a coffee table, a plant stand, or a minimalist bedside shelf!
1. Prepare the Hub: Glue the two parts of the Center Hub together. (I designed it in two pieces to eliminate the need for supports and to add structural strength through extra solid layers in the center) Ensure they are perfectly aligned and let the glue dry completely.
2. Prepare the Legs: If you have one long broom handle, cut it into three equal pieces (recommended length: 46–50 cm). Sand the ends if they are too rough.
3. Add the Foot Caps: Slide the TPU caps onto the bottom of the legs to ensure stability and protect your floor.
4. Insert the Legs: Slide the wooden handles through the Center Hub.
5. Attach the Top Tray: Push the top ends of the legs into the sockets of the Top Tray. The friction fit should hold them securely.
6. Final Adjustments: Ensure all legs are pushed in evenly so the table stands level.
If the fit is too tight due to slight variations in wooden handle diameters, you can lightly sand the ends of the sticks. If it's too loose, a single layer of electrical tape around the stick will create a rock-solid connection.
