ChatGPT summary:
“The Union Pacific Big Boy steam locomotive is one of the largest steam locomotives ever built, designed for hauling heavy freight over the steep grades of the Wasatch Mountains. It was constructed by the American Locomotive Company between 1941 and 1944 for the Union Pacific Railroad to improve efficiency on long-distance routes. The Big Boy measures over 132 feet in length and weighs more than 1.2 million pounds, making it an engineering marvel of its time. It uses a 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement, which means it has four leading wheels, two sets of eight driving wheels, and four trailing wheels for stability and power. Only 25 of these locomotives were ever built, and a few have been preserved today as historic symbols of the steam era in American railroading.”
Boost MeThe big boy is one of my favorite trains! if you agree after printing, please consider boosting!
I've loved the Union pacific big boy steam engine since I was younger and still do, and because I have a 3D printer now, I thought it would be a good idea to make one! the model has an articulating front section and a detachable coal tender, includes small details like a bell, cab windows, and number plates above the front, all simplified for printability with a 0.4mm nozzle. After printing, be careful removing supports, as some parts will still be a bit fragile. When rating the model, please add pictures, I ask because I like seeing how your model turned out and helping with any problems that i have answers for. thank you for taking time out of your day to check out this model!
