Description
Inspired by the Koopa Shell trailer hitch cover from Neebick (that I have printed and have on my truck ever since), I decided I wanted to have a second one!
This is the Mushroom (Charles Leclerc favorite!) from Mario Kart.
Fits standard 2" and 1.25" trailer hitches (see specific model).
Print profiles exist for both a 100% scale version (200mm x 200mm x 200xx) and for 75% scale version (150mm x 150mm x 150mm). The model has been adjusted to use the same hitch bar (for either 2" or 1.25").
The head prints in 2 pieces for best quality. If you want, to can tilt the spots on the built plate to avoid the layer lines (I personnaly did not mind since it won't be seen from close when driving).
I printed mine using PETG. ASA could be a good alternative. test fit parts before gluing to ensure a smooth assembly experience.
1 - Bond the head connector piece in one of the head part and glue the second head part.
2 - Bond the head to base connector in the head and then bond the base on the head. Ensure the pocket for hitch bar is aligned properly (there is a bit of slack in the connection between the head and the base).
3 - Glue the spots on the head. Align the spots on the little pegs on the head (the shape of the spots is the same as the head which is not 100% round and a wrong alignment would make the curvature uneven).
4 - Glue the pupils in the eyes and then the eyes on the base. The eyes and pupils follow the round shape of the base, ensure they are aligned properly and in the right place.
5 - Glue the hitch bar. The hole for the pin should be closer to the free end of the bar (meaning the longest part without the hole should be glued on the mushroom).

Also, you can use a golden filament to have multiple boosts!
