Description
Feedbin is a ventilated storage basket for fruits, vegetables, yarn, or anything you want to keep accessible and visible.
The twisted open-frame structure keeps the form visually airy while maintaining enough rigidity for everyday use.
Two versions are included:
The dispenser works best with similarly sized spherical objects. Depending on the size, shape, and quantity of the contents, objects may obstruct one another near the outlet and prevent smooth dispensing. Worth keeping in mind when choosing what to store inside.
The model prints in two parts and assembles without tools. Despite the complex geometry, no supports are required.
The dimensions were specifically chosen to remain printable even on smaller printers such as the A1 Mini. Scaling the model up may still work, though it was not physically tested. If you decide to print a larger version, it is worth keeping in mind that the unsupported height of the vertical rods may introduce slight elastic deformation during printing as the moving nozzle interacts with the structure, potentially affecting upper layer accuracy.
Scaling the model down is not recommended, as reduced tolerances may affect assembly fit between the two parts.
This model is part of my UnboringHousehold collection — everyday objects designed with a little more intention. Feel free to explore the rest of the collection here: NotJustHousehold
