Description

A home built track is always fun, but it can be difficult to build structure, and over time its easy to master a track and get bored with it.  Flex Strut system uses simple 10-12inch BBQ skewers as deck material to create a track and bridge system that can be easily adapted to many situations.  The flex struts can be used in pairs with the anchor plates for single double and triple spans.  Longer spans its recommended to use the middle  support tower and run a string or paracord to help create tension. Flex struts can also be glued to other structure to create new tracks.  Two pieces of cardboard cut in a pattern with flex strut attached along the cut can create amazing track surfaces an example is included in the photos.

Usage directions

Flex Struts are made to work with 10-12 inch BBQ skewers of a close too but non uniform size some may be tighter or looser than others. If you have problems with skewer movement and the track your creating is permanent you can always glue the skewers, for temporary tracks simply wetting down the skewers with a mist spray will make them swell and hold tight, or a line of tape on the bottom side works also.

When creating a span its most important that the track surface is straight and as tight as possible be sure to pull the Flex Struts in line with minimum droop.

When making a span always overlap the Flex Struts by at least 3 skewers for strength.

When using the anchor plates be sure to use both side anchor points for skeweres. If making a longer spans you may want to used the middle screw hole to  create a middle attachment point a small zip tie around the skewers this helps distribute the force.

When longer spans are created use the middle support tower. When adding this support you add a tensioned cord above the bridge and slide the support to the desired location. It was made to be free floating but you can fix the location if you choose.  The tension cord only needs to be tensioned to the bridge height. not perfectly level.  Refer to the photos provided.

Be sure to use both side holes on the tower to attach the skewers for maximum support.
