This is a parametric cutter for turning suitable 3D models into twist fidgets.
Instead of modeling every slice by hand, you can generate a cutter that fits your model, bring both parts into a slicer, and use a Boolean Difference operation to create the twist-fidget structure.
It works best with models that have:
a flat or easy-to-flatten bottom
a solid body, not a thin hollow shell
enough height for the slices to slide
enough XY size around the center axis
details that will not be destroyed by the center hole
The main parameters are:
Diameter - should be slightly larger than the widest part of your model
Height - should be slightly larger than the total height of your model
Pin Slot Height - controls the internal captive slot height
Core Diameter - controls the center hole and affects small top details
Basic workflow:
Prepare your main model.
Generate a cutter that fits the model.
In the slicer, align the model inside the cutter.
Run Boolean cut.
Slice and check that the internal slot stays hidden.
Print and test the twist movement.
