Stylish Round Topped End/Side Table Plant Stand

3D Print this stand and attach your own table top of your choosing. I designed this in 3d based on an antique table I own and to use a round Top I had lying around. However Lowes sells round wood project boards that would work perfectly and are approximately the same size. This is a sturdy table stand but not strong enough to sit on. I would say this could probably support 50lbs as long as it is placed somewhat carefully on it. Dropping 50 lbs on this table stand would most certainly snap the legs at the dovetails.

I printed this with SUNLU PLA+ 2.0 but Bambu filament could easily be used.

Some things to note about this model:

• No need to glue the legs in but the rest of the model should be glued together with super glue.
• Supports recommended. I have in the supports settings that the interface layer is using PETG to make supports easier to remove however it adds considerable time to the prints.
• Increasing infill for the legs will make them stronger and to be able to hold more weight. (Dovetail joint seems to be the first to fail when applying a lot of load. I know this because I tried pushing down hard to see if/when/where the model would break.)
  • Could also increase wall thickness at the dovetail joint to increase strength.
• I have a plate with 3 legs on it and set the settings to have the support material be the same as the legs which I have tried and it's not to bad removing the supports.
  • Care must be taken to clean up the Dovetail on the legs so they slide in nicely to the base of the table.
• In the 3d model I shrunk the pins by .1mm in diameter and .1mm in length for easier fitment of components.
  • The Dovetail on the legs were also shrunk with a .2mm offset only in width.

At the time of this posting the project top from my local Lowes retails for under $15.00. If the same sized top were to be 3D printed with similar dimensions it would take over 1kg of filament for just the top. I was looking at designing a 3d printable top and noticed how much filament it would take so I decided to put that on the back burner.
