Big Dumb Dollar Sign Chain for Financially Questionable People

Description

Do you want to look rich without experiencing any of the burden, responsibility, or actual money normally associated with being rich?

Introducing the Big Dumb Dollar Sign Chain, a giant 3D printed monument to poor decisions, shiny plastic, and the kind of confidence only a person with a drawer full of failed prints can understand.

This oversized dollar sign pendant is roughly 210 mm tall, 120 mm wide, and 10 mm thick, because subtlety is for people with retirement accounts. It also includes about 26 printable chain links, conveniently pre-arranged on a second plate so you can spend less time organizing parts and more time wondering why your “cheap hobby” now requires storage bins, nozzle backups, desiccant packets, and emotional support. There is a third plate with just two links that you can use to grow your chain over time…because of course.

The chain links are beefed up where you need it (yellow modifier boxes on images) and light where you don't but while the links print great we know you only half care about that part.

The pendant features a raised cracked/stone-style texture applied using BumpMesh.com, because apparently a plain dollar sign was not loud enough. The underlying dollar sign design was created by me, during what I can only assume was a moment of peak financial clarity or complete filament-induced delusion.

Print it in gold silk PLA for maximum “I am wealthy, but only in slicer previews” energy.

Wear it to:

  • Announce that you own a 3D printer before anyone asks
  • Flex on people who still buy jewelry from stores
  • Explain layer lines to strangers at parties
  • Make your family ask, “Is this what you’ve been doing downstairs?”
  • Look like a rapper whose entire label advance was spent at Micro Center
  • Celebrate getting a successful first layer, which is basically generational wealth
  • Cosplay as someone who has not checked their filament spending this month

This is not real gold. It is much better than real gold, because real gold cannot be reprinted after you accidentally snap a chain link while “testing durability” with the confidence of an unsupervised raccoon.

It is flashy. It is ridiculous. It is deeply unnecessary. It is exactly the kind of thing a 3D printer was invented for, probably against the wishes of every serious engineer involved.

Perfect for costumes, gag gifts, MakerWorld chaos, financial satire, silk filament testing, or finally giving your printer a chance to produce something that screams, “I may not have money, but I do have bed adhesion.”

Suggested Print Notes

For best results, print in gold silk PLA and prepare yourself emotionally for how shiny it looks compared to how little actual wealth it represents.

The chain links are included separately and arranged on a second plate. Assembly may cause temporary feelings of power, luxury, and the belief that you are now qualified to start a jewelry brand. These feelings should pass within 3 to 5 business days.

Disclaimer

Not legal tender. Not real jewelry. Not financial advice. Wearing this in public may result in compliments, confusion, or someone asking whether you also printed your personality.
