Description
Give your garden's hardest workers a home worth moving into.
This 3D printed mason bee house combines an eye-catching design with practical, beekeeper-friendly features — a structure that looks great while making seasonal maintenance effortless.
The frame system is ready to be disassembled, so when the season ends and frost approaches, you can quickly unmount the house, remove the cocoons, and store them safely in a dry place at temperatures up to 5°C — no tools, no hassle, no lost cocoons.
A dedicated slot on the back wall makes nest removal even easier, so you never have to struggle to get the tubes out.
The nesting frames are sized to fit the house interior with a precise height tolerance — no rattling, no shifting. However, if over time material seasoning or gradual PLA degradation introduces any play, a set of pre-built holes under the roof allows you to add clamping screws that press the nest frames firmly against the floor, keeping everything snug and secure for seasons to come.
The nesting tubes are 8mm in diameter and 20cm deep — the ideal dimensions for mason bees. A single house holds 185 nesting tubes, giving your local pollinators plenty of room to thrive.
Material choice was deliberate: exterior parts are printed in PETG for weather resistance and high dimentions stability, while the nesting tubes themselves are printed in matte PLA — mimicking the natural look and texture of traditional reed nests that mason bees instinctively prefer.
The house mounts on a standard 16.5-17mm garden stake, making it easy to reposition or swap out between seasons.
