Description
After 3 months of designing, prototyping, printing, and testing… it’s finally here.
The ITX Steam Machine.
Built as an alternative to what Valve should have released by now, this compact console-style PC uses standard ITX motherboards and a Flex power supply, making it both powerful and upgradeable while keeping the classic Steam Machine aesthetic alive.
Specs support:
• RX 9060 XT GPUs
• 8GB or 16GB variants
• Compact console-sized footprint
One of my favourite parts of the build is the front light bar — powered by an ESP32 running WLED, giving it fully customisable effects and animations.
The goal with this project was simple:
Create a 3D-printed and hopefully cheaper alternative to Valve’s original vision while still delivering real gaming PC performance.
This has easily been one of my favourite projects so far.
