Spool - light and fast

Another Spool!

 

I took the dimensions from the original Bambu Lab one, and inspired by ER 3D CREATIONS I created this one.

 

This spool is designed to be sturdy, ultra-lightweight (under 90g), and moderately quick to print—taking just about one hour per side in Sport mode. Mine are printed in PLA, and they run flawlessly in the AMS. So far, I haven't experienced a single side-tangled filament issue (which actually happened to me once with the original spools).

A quick note on tolerances: The locking mechanism is designed to be veryprecise. While this is exactly what prevents the filament from tangling, it does mean twisting and locking the two parts together requires a bit more time than usual, the first times. Managing the plastic filament bands during assembly can be a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's very straightforward.

Note: I intentionally excluded a dedicated spool lock slot. In my personal experience, I've never actually needed it, and I believe its importance is overestimated!
