Mini Rainmaker/Rainstick Sensory Sound Toy

A simple and colorful rattle print that makes a soft rattling sound using rice: Perfect as a sensory toy or fun baby accessory!

There will be a warning for a floating region in the slicer. This is caused by the interior of the rattle and is completely normal. Do not enable supports — you can start the print without worries.

Important Printing Instructions (Print in one go)

  • This print requires 5-10 teaspoons of rice inside the egg to work properly as a rattle.
  • To fill the rice into print, I recommend using a small funnel.
  • The printer will automatically pause at a specific height during printing.
  • Carefully insert the rice before continuing the print. DO NOT touch the model while inserting the rice
  • → (If the model comes off the build plate during this step, there is unfortunately no way to properly finish the print because the rice chamber cannot be sealed correctly anymore.)

Alternative Print Profile (Print in two parts)

Since some people had problems with the Print in One Go option, I have added another profile.

With this version, the rattle is printed in two separate parts and requires a small amount of super glue for assembly. The rice can be added after printing, making the process easier and reducing the risk of a failed print.

Important Note for Enclosed Bambu Lab Users

I noticed on my P1S that the cooling fan airflow was sometimes so strong that the rice grains were blown away during the pause.

A simple solution:

Use a small piece of paper or cardboard as a temporary wind blocker while inserting the rice.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After printing:

Carefully inspect the model for any sharp edges or rough spots.
Depending on the filament material and print quality, there may especially be a sharp point near the top seam area.

Always supervise babies while using printed toys.

I am not responsible for any damage, injuries, or problems caused by the use of this print.
