Description
For the printer to work without issues, it requires your care and maintenance. Idler pulleys also need regular cleaning and lubrication, but unfortunately, some of them are difficult to access, making the cleaning process much more complicated.
This simple device makes cleaning idler pulleys very easy and effective. The model prints quickly and is easy to assemble.
After printing the model, you will need to cut a strip of fabric 8 mm wide (I used microfiber cloths for glasses) secure it in the device, soak it with isopropyl alcohol, and start cleaning the idler pulleys.
Place the cleaner into the desired opening, press it firmly against the pulley with one hand, and carefully move the printer's printhead in the corresponding direction with the other hand. After a few movements, all the accumulated dirt on the idler pulley will be removed and will remain on the fabric.
This device is suitable for cleaning idler pulleys located in the rear corners of the printer and directly on the X-Axis.
The model has been tested on P2S and X2D printers, and in all cases, it fit perfectly without any modifications needed.
Please note: if you print this model using filament from a different manufacturer, the material may have different shrinkage properties, which can affect the fit between parts. This does not mean the model is faulty or doesn’t work — it simply means your print settings may need adjustment. The model has been thoroughly tested and works perfectly with my settings.
You can find the version for P1/X1 series printers via the link below.
I hope my improvement will be useful for you.
