IKEA MITTZON Under-Desk Laptop Mount (No Drill)

This is a custom-designed under-desk laptop mount made specifically for the IKEA MITTZON desk series. It lets you slide your laptop securely under your desk to keep your workspace clean. 

No drilling required! It uses the pre-existing holes on the underside of the desk.

I designed it to hold an Apple MacBook Air, but the brackets have enough clearance to fit slightly larger or thicker laptops as well.

Hardware & Mounting

The mount consists of 4 brackets in total. Installation is super simple:

• Rear Brackets (2x): No extra hardware needed. Just unscrew the two factory screws already in the frame, put the rear brackets in place, and screw them back in.
• Front Brackets (2x): You will need 2x M6 screws (25mm length). The pre-drilled holes in the frame are about 16mm deep.
  • Tip: I used two M6x25mm screws that were very likely included as spare parts in the original MITTZON packaging. I recently moved and assembled a ton of furniture, so I can't remember 100% – but they fit perfectly and definitely look like IKEA leftovers. Check your MITTZON box for extra backup hardware before buying new ones!

Desk Dimensions & Compatibility

• The desk that I am using is IKEA MITTZON Desk – 140 x 60 cm (55 1/8×23 5/8") 
• Hole Spacing (Pre-existing frame holes):
  • Horizontal: 470 mm (18.5")
  • Vertical: 225 mm (8.9")
• If you own a larger version of this desk (like the 160 x 80 cm variant), please double-check if the underside metal frame uses the exact same hole spacing and layout before printing.  If the frame layout is different on your wider desk, just leave a comment or send me a message! I'd be happy to tweak the design and upload a compatible version for you.

💡 Bonus Setup Tip for an Ultra-Clean Desk

If you want to hide all your cables completely, here is what I did: I mounted my docking station to the underside of the desk using heavy-duty hook-and-loop picture hanging strips (like Command Strips). Combined with the MITTZON's built-in cable management net, all cables are routed invisibly under the frame. You won't see a single wire from above or below!
