Description
This model was inspired by a very real problem in my house.
My wife loves decorating, and if you've ever wandered through Hobby Lobby, you know exactly what happens next. Every season seems to bring home another beautiful box sign, framed quote, decorative picture, or piece of farmhouse décor. The problem is that many of these signs are bulky and intended to stand perfectly upright at a 90-degree angle. While that works in theory, in practice they often look awkward, don't display the artwork very well, and seem to be one bump away from tipping over.
After watching a few too many signs fall over, I decided to design a better solution.
This parametric stand allows you to enter the dimensions of your sign and select the viewing angle that looks best. The stand securely supports box-style signs, framed artwork, lithophanes, shadow boxes, and similar decorative displays while presenting them at a more natural viewing angle.

How to Use:
The model automatically generates a matching pair of stands sized for your display.
I designed this to be minimalist, light, and easy to print with an extremely high success rate. Any and all print settings you choose should work great.
This project is dedicated to my wife and her seemingly limitless ability to find "just one more" decorative sign that absolutely has to come home from Hobby Lobby.
If this stand helps your décor stay upright and look a little better on display, then it has done its job.
P.S. Since the model automatically generates a matching pair of stands sized for your display. The pair will be a single object, so if you create a stand for a large sign, you may need to split the object and print each piece on it's own build plate.
I'd love to see what you're displaying with these stands. Upload your makes and photos!
