Subaru Impreza STI WRC - Unveiling Model!

The single print profile gives 2 plate options:  With and Without the black base,  I HIGHLY recommend using a Matte PLA for the cloth as it gives it the best appearance. Regular PLA, while not horrible, does not look as good as matte.

Display Stand

All of my models are made on a standard size platform and are directly compatible with my Model Display Lamp. Not only can you display the models Horizontally with a soft overhead light, but there are also provisions to install the models vertically, for a better top-down display view. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1232070-led-light-display-stand-for-layered-car-art-prints#profileId-1250999

My Model Display Lamp is fully printed, requires no hardware, and is compatible with the Bambu LED Lamp Kit-001! There are 2 back wall configurations and 2 top light housing configurations to choose from!

Also available is a print profile for the bottom plate that allows for displaying models you may have already printed from some other popular Layered Car modeler’s (LemonArts, check them out for their models as well!).

A third variation of the Model Display Lamp is also available in a larger size for any 1:24 scale models you may want to show-case in a similar fashion!

For those that don't need a display light but still want to display the models I also have a basic double-display stand that can accommodate both the Horizontal & Vertical layered prints (or either one individually): https://makerworld.com/en/models/1481698-layered-car-model-basic-dual-display-stand#profileId-1547266

The Background

I am a huge gear-head and for the past 21 years have been fortunate enough to own my dream car: a 1995 Toyota Supra Turbo. I have spent countless hours wrenching on my car, and absolutely love anything automotive. I have also spent my fair share of time building 1:18 and 1:24 scale model cars, as well as collect die-cast models to display in my office. When I first saw these Layered Sculpture car models pop up I realized that this was my chance to put a number of my hobbies all into 1 exercise! Between my 3d Scanning, Meshmixer & blender modeling & finding available STL files online a 3 week journey began!

The Process

If you want a quick insight to the process of making these, look back through some of my previous posts for a (very) high level insight. Please note that I've had several members reach out to me on a weekly basis inquiring about the specifics of these designs, and as much as I would love to help, I simply don't have the time to make any sort of all-inclusive document to guide you through this design journey.. (and frankly, I am far from good to be teaching to folks anything.. ) anything that I do with my models can easily be found in much better-document video tutorials on youtube, or elsewhere on the web.

I will note that my CAD programs of choice are currently Solidworks, Meshmixer and Blender. Base STL files are generated via 3d scans, rips of available online games/models, or purely modeling from scratch.

Thanks for printing!
