Description

This little chest is a proper charmer. It's a compact two-part mini treasure chest with a working hinged lid, held together by a leftover piece of 1.75mm filament that you probably already have lying around. At around 50mm wide it's a great size for a desk ornament, a dice tray surprise, a gift box for something small, or a bit of tabletop RPG scenery. Print it in single colour for a classic wooden look, or use the AMS version to get that dark red body with gold trim that really makes it pop.

Assembly couldn't be simpler. Print your two parts, thread a short piece of 1.75mm filament through the hinge points, and the natural curve of the filament holds everything in place with no glue needed. The lid opens and closes smoothly and it looks great whether you fill it with dice, sweets, a tiny note, or a mini skull. It's a fun little print that punches well above its weight on the shelf.

Filament Colour and Material

PLA works great for this one. For the single colour version, a rich brown or mahogany shade gives a lovely wood-like feel. For the AMS version, pair a dark red or burnt sienna body with a gold or antique brass trim for that classic treasure chest look. Silk or satin filaments on the gold parts will really elevate the finish.
