Description
Welcome to ModuTown! A growing world of modular, 3D-printable toys designed to be printed, played with, and expanded over time.
The Starter Pack is the foundation of the ModuTown system and includes 4 vehicle types and 4 scenery pieces, providing everything needed to begin building your own miniature town. Every vehicle in this set is built around a shared universal base, allowing parts to be mixed, matched, and combined to create new variations.
From the beginning, ModuTown was designed with playability in mind. All parts are intentionally kept as large, robust, and durable as possible while maintaining an attractive minimalist appearance.
While adult supervision is always recommended, special attention was given to avoiding small, fragile features that could easily break during normal play.
The core idea behind ModuTown is simple:
Every vehicle shares the same underlying system, making it easy to swap bodies, create new combinations, and expand your collection over time.
The Starter Pack is only the beginning.
While the example models are shown in the ModuTown and Mike.stl color scheme, every piece can be printed in any color combination you choose. In the future create city services, race cars, delivery fleets, construction vehicles, or invent entirely new vehicle types of your own.
ModuTown is being developed as an expanding toy ecosystem. Future releases will introduce new vehicles, scenery pieces, and themed expansion packs that remain fully compatible with the Starter Pack.
Every new release is designed to work seamlessly with the models already in your collection.
Many toy vehicles are designed as standalone models. ModuTown takes a different approach by focusing on compatibility, expansion, and creativity.
Instead of collecting unrelated toys, every ModuTown vehicle and scenery piece is designed to become part of a growing world where everything works together.
The models have been designed specifically for FDM 3D printing and are optimized for straightforward printing and assembly.
It is advised to use variable layer heights on most parts to achieve the best balance between smooth round edges and fast printing times.
The axles and wheels should be printed with a higher density infill and wall loop count to ensure them not breaking during play. A minimum of 4 wall loops and an infill percentage of 75% is recommended (When using PLA).
For the most durable result, it is recommended to glue the wheels to their axles during assembly. While the parts are designed for an easy fit, securing the wheels with glue helps prevent them from coming loose during play and improves long-term durability.
A small drop of super glue (CA glue) on each wheel is sufficient.
Once assembled, the vehicles are designed to withstand regular handling and play while maintaining smooth rolling performance.
ModuTown is an ongoing project, and community suggestions help shape its future. If there's a vehicle, scenery piece, or expansion theme you'd like to see added, feel free to leave a comment.
