Shaped Bokeh Kit - Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G

Bokeh is the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light, this is reflected in the shape of point sources of light in the background of photos.

The bokeh shape is determined by the shape of the shutter, which means you can alter it by covering the front of your lens with the desired shape - thus essentially change the affective shape of the aperture.

This model lets you cover the front of your Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G lens either with a simple slide-on cap or a screwed-on cap for well tuned printers, and rapidly change bokeh shapes from a selection of shapes including a heart, a star, a music note and a star-of-David.

Also attached is a blank insert for you to design your own bokeh shape and upload as a remix.

Print Settings

Material: matt black filament is preferred but not crucial for operation.

Supports: minimal supports from bed only.

Layer Height: 0.16mm used for smooth insertion chamfers, Prusaslicer's smoothed adaptive variable layer height used for the lens caps.

I designed this kit for a friend's wedding and didn't get the photos from the photographer yet so the photos of the bokeh effect are sourced from the internet and will be updated as soon as I get the photos.
