Chip Blocker for Drill Press

Tired of chips flying all over your workshop every time you drill?

The Chip Blocker is a drill press chip shield designed to reduce and contain flying chips during drilling operations. Positioned around the drill bit, it reduces the distance chips can travel and helps keep your workspace cleaner. Ideal for metalworking, woodworking, and general workshop use.

Safety note: Do not push the Chip Blocker against the drill bit while drilling. For increased clearance and safer operation the large size is recommended.

I have made two variants:

Small - Suitable for drill bits with diameters up to 10mm (3/8")

Large - Suitable for drill bits with diameters up to 16mm (5/8")

Filaments used:

• Generic PLA

Printer details:

• Created on a Bambu Lab A1
• Printed with a 0.4 mm nozzle
• Build plate: Textured PEI Plate
• Make sure the build plate surface is clean before printing to ensure the best adhesion
• NO supports needed
