37.5 mm Screw-Together 3D Printed Ball — Easy No-Support Print

Summary

This is a simple, satisfying 37.5 mm diameter screw-together ball designed for easy 3D printing. Each ball prints quickly in PLA, requires no supports, and the two halves screw together, with the thread, neatly by hand.

It is a great little print for testing filament colours, demonstrating threaded 3D printed parts, making classroom examples, or creating small tactile objects, props, counters, toys, or display pieces.

Prints in around 30 minutes depending on your settings. Uses less than 14 grams of filament.

Description

This model is a compact, easy-to-print ball made from two threaded halves. It has been designed so that it can be printed without supports, making it a great beginner-friendly model for Bambu Lab printers.

The finished ball is approximately 37.5 mm in diameter and screws together easily after printing. The thread is large enough to be practical and forgiving, while still giving a satisfying screw-together action.

Because the ball is made from two parts, you can also print each half in different colours to create custom combinations. It works well as a quick filament test, a classroom demonstration model, or a small functional object for design, prototyping, games, props, or sensory/tactile use.
