Description

Need to print something for Father's Day!? This is a heartfelt, customizable display pedestal with a fun, hidden secret. Designed as a cute Father's Day present, the top features a sturdy 3mm drop-in slot perfect for displaying a silhouette, a custom definition of Dad that shows how you really feel about him.

The base features an inverted-dovetail sliding drawer specifically dimensioned to hold a standard gift card. It’s the perfect way to elevate a simple gift card into a memorable, interactive present. If you aren't giving a gift card this year, you can simply leave it empty or leave a little note for Dad! The drawer sits completely flush, and the model works beautifully as a standalone desktop display piece.

🛠️ Printing & Assembly Notes

  • The Friction Locks: The sliding drawer features small friction bumps designed to snap into corresponding divots inside the base track. This fit is intentionally tight to ensure the drawer stays securely closed and doesn't accidentally slide open when the gift is picked up.
  • Opening a Stuck Drawer: If the snap-fit is a little too tight fresh off the printer and you’re having trouble sliding it open, simply wedge a thin craft knife or scraper into the seam to gently pop the dots free.
  • Adjusting the Fit: If you prefer a smoother, looser slide rather than a hard mechanical snap, just grab a bit of sandpaper and lightly sand down the two bumps on the top of the drawer until you get your ideal resistance.
