Generic Clip-In Car Display Mount (Customizable CAD Included)

I designed this generic mounting bracket for external car displays.

The mount features integrated locking tabs that clip securely into the display's mounting slots, providing a very stable and reliable attachment. This model only includes the display-side mounting interface, allowing you to easily adapt the back side to your own vehicle, dashboard, or custom mounting solution.

The original CAD file is included, so you can quickly modify the design to fit your specific application.

How to Use

1. Download the model.
2. Modify the rear mounting geometry to match your vehicle or mounting system.
3. Export and print.
4. Install and enjoy.

Printing Recommendations

I printed the part in ABS-GF and highly recommend using a heat-resistant material.

Recommended materials:

• ABS-GF
• ABS
• ASA
• ASA-GF

Not recommended:

• PLA (may deform in a hot vehicle)
• PETG (can work, but may soften when exposed to direct sunlight and high interior temperatures)

Print Settings

• Supports required (for the locking tabs)
• Print orientation: approximately 20° angle
• 16mm layer heights work well

Printing at a 20° angle produced excellent results and clean support removal for the locking tabs.
