Description

This is a modification (remix) of the official Flashforge AD5X enclosure parts. It integrates sturdy hinges directly into the top frame pieces, allowing you to easily open and tilt the top glass panel without having to remove it completely from the printer.

Perfect for venting the enclosure quickly when switching from high-temperature filaments (like ABS/ASA) to PLA/PETG.

1. Features & Improvements

1.1. Integrated Design: The hinges are modeled directly into the structural frame pieces. No extra glue or complex mounting clips required.

1.2. Full Clearance: Designed to clear the internal PTFE tubes and toolhead cable chain comfortably when closed, as well as allowing a wide opening angle.

1.3. Print-in-Place / Easy Assembly: The hinges are printed fully assembled as a single piece. No assembly require, just remove the supports from the hinges. No extra screws, pins, or filament pieces are needed for the pivot mechanism.

2. Print Settings & Post-Processing

2.1. Material: PETG, ABS, or ASA (recommended for temperature resistance inside the enclosure). PLA can be used but might soften if you print high-temp materials often.

2.2. Infill: 25% to 30% (Gyroid or Grid for structural strength).

2.3. Walls/Perimeters: 3 or 4 lines.

2.4. Supports: Supports are required for the hinge mechanism.

2.5. ⚠ Post-Processing (Support Removal): The part is very sturdy and won't break (fully tested and proven using PETG). To clean the supports generated inside the slot where the glass is inserted, the easiest and cleanest method is to slide in a pair of fine, thin scissors to pop them out.
