Spiral Pass-Through Fidget Toy

This is a small spiral fidget toy I designed and printed.

It has two parts. There is a twisted inner piece and a matching outer sleeve. The inner piece passes through the sleeve when you push and turn it at the same time. It has a really nice satisfying feel to it and works well as a little desk toy or fidget.

I printed mine in black PLA and it came out nicely.

Print Settings

Boost MeLike the model? Giving it a boost really helps it get seen by more people. I’m still new to sharing my own 3D prints, so any support is massively appreciated. Thanks for checking it out and I hope you enjoy the print.

These are the settings I used / would recommend:

  • Material: PLA
  • Layer height: 0.16 mm to 0.24 mm
  • Infill: 15% to 25%
  • Walls: 3
  • Supports: No
  • Brim: Optional for the tall spiral part

How to Use

Print both parts, clean off any loose stringing, then line up the spiral piece with the hole in the sleeve.

Push it through while twisting it and it should pass through smoothly.

Fitment

Every printer is a bit different, so the fit might need a small tweak.

If it feels too tight, scale the sleeve to 101% in X and Y only. Leave Z the same.

If it feels too loose, scale the sleeve to 99% in X and Y only. Leave Z the same.

Notes

This is just a fun little print that I made because I wanted something satisfying to mess around with at my desk.

Hope you enjoy printing it.
