8mm Threaded Screw Grease Applicator for Compatible BambuLab Printers

Problem:

I’ve looked at many designs aimed at greasing lead screws, but they all followed a similar approach: a small "fork-shaped" greaser with minimal contact surface. The result was poor—grease wasn’t evenly distributed on the screws.

Solution:

These designs overlooked the simplest and most effective solution: using circular geometry to spread grease evenly!

How to Use the Grease Applicator:

Before proceeding, make sure to have some spray degreaser (like WD-40) and/or isopropyl alcohol to clean dirt and old grease from the screws.

1. Use the 8mm lead screw spray degreaser tool (linked at the bottom) to spray your degreaser of choice onto the screw to clean it from old grease and debris, then with a cloth, clean all the dirt away.
2. With another cloth, use some isopropyl alcohol to clean oil residues left by the degreaser. When the screws shine, they’re ready! ;)
3. Place the tool upright on a flat surface.
4. Squeeze a small amount of grease into the concave space and spread it evenly—this will contact the screws.
5. Slide the tool up and down while gently rotating it with your wrist’s movement.

⚠️ Do not apply strong force to the screw. If needed, hold the upper part of the screw with your other hand. Apply grease, leaving at least 30mm clear on both the top and bottom (the printer’s movement will distribute it evenly).

Tip: It’s better to grease twice rather than have to wipe off excess. ;)
