Modular RJ45 Ceiling Outlet for Drywall

This model was designed to create clean and professional Ethernet outlets in suspended drywall ceilings.

Instead of pulling loose network cables through the ceiling, this system allows permanent installation of RJ45 Keystone Jacks inside a removable snap-in insert. Standard patch cables can then be connected directly to the ceiling outlet.

The design consists of two separate components:

1. Mounting Frame

The mounting frame is inserted into a rectangular drywall cutout and secured using integrated clamping brackets.

2. Snap-In Keystone Insert

The insert holds up to 6 standard RJ45 Keystone Jacks and snaps securely into the mounting frame. It can be removed at any time for maintenance or upgrades.

Drywall Requirements

Suitable for drywall / plasterboard ceilings with a thickness of:

≥ 10 mm

Recommended cutout size:

85 mm × 175 mm

Supported cutout range:

• Minimum: 82 mm × 172 mm
• Maximum: 95 mm × 178 mm

Required Hardware

Threaded Inserts

• 4x M4 heat-set threaded inserts 

Screws

• 4x M4 × 16 mm cylinder head screws (for 12,5mm plate min. length 16mm) 

The screws actuate the clamping mechanism that secures the frame to the drywall panel.
