Description
After another wad of tests, tests, and more tests, I’ve finally got this F-35 Lightning II inspired glider to a size and shape I’m happy with for version 1.
This is a 3D printed throwable glider that flies nice and stable, feels really good in the hand, and has a cool jet-style look once assembled.
Flight performance will always depend on the weather and how you throw it, but if you’ve got a long hallway or a calm outdoor space, that’s where it seems to perform best.
The model is just over 300mm from nose to tail with roughly a 200mm wingspan, so it’s a nice display size while still being light enough to throw and glide.
Assembly is simple. It only uses 3 main printed pieces:
No glue needed, no AMS needed, and it’s a fairly simple print.( if you use my print profile )
This is the first release version, so think of it as version 1. I’m already looking at doing another version later with maybe bigger wings and hopefully even longer flight time.
I hope you enjoy it, and any feedback, recommendations, or flight-test results are very welcome. If you try it, let me know how it flies for you.
