FenceTop Bird Bath

I found a similar concept here on MakerWorld, but it was designed for square fence posts. Since my garden has a chain-link fence with round metal posts, I decided to create my own version specifically for round fence posts.

With the hot summer temperatures, I wanted to provide birds with more places to drink and cool down. Every small water source can make a difference for local wildlife, especially during long dry and hot periods.

This bird bath is designed to replace the original plastic fence post cap. Simply remove the existing cap and slide the bird bath onto the top of the fence post.

Compatibility

• Designed for 34 mm round fence posts (outside diameter).

If there is enough interest, or if you need a different size, I'd be happy to create additional versions for other common round fence post diameters. Feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.

Printing Recommendations

I recommend printing this model in ASA, as it offers excellent UV resistance and weather durability for long-term outdoor use.

PETG is also a good alternative and should work well for most outdoor conditions.

The model shown in the photos is printed in black ASA, simply because that was the material I had available at the time. In the future, I plan to print it in more natural, bird-friendly colors such as green, which I think will blend into the garden much better.
