Heli Helicopter Toy Kit Card

About

Helicopter kit card - great as a project with young ones.

Printing

  • The print profile that I've uploaded contains both two-color and single-color models. There are also versions without the kit card frame if you prefer. Print only the plates you need.

  • The profile contains support enforcers. If you are downloading the raw file to print, please refer to my print profile for the placement of the two small but necessary supports at the tail section parts.

  • Use good quality filaments, especially if you are printing the two-color version.

Assembly

  • If you'd printed the version with frame, cut out the pieces from the frame, and clean up the ‘sprues’ as best as you can.
  • Assemble the tail section first.
    • Remove the supports for the two halves of the tail section (1). These are the only supports used in this model.
    • Insert the tail rotor (2) before closing the two mating halves.

  • Next, attach the side intakes (3) to each half of the helicopter's body section.

  • Insert the two window panes (4), the sensors pod (5), the main rotor (6), and the assembled tail section to one half of the body section. Cover with the other half of the body section and press firmly.

  • Finally, insert the side wings (7) to the helicopter body.

  • Notes:
    • Safety: contains small parts, please exercise care around younger children.
    • If the fitment is too tight, file or sand the contact surfaces slightly.
    • You can use glue for a more robust assembly.
    • The single-color version makes for a great coloring project for kids!

(My neighbor's 7 year-old went to town with the coloring!)

Have fun and please check out my other models. A like will be most appreciated, TYSM!
